Spezial has always worked best when Gary Aspden points the Three Stripes toward the hills rather than the terraces, and the Wetherlam SPZL — named, like much of the line, after a Lake District fell — is built squarely for that idea. It is a low hiker cut on a trainer last, and this pair runs in sand green with mesa brown.
Soft olive suede covers most of the upper, broken by brown suede on the toe, the heel and the collar, with a ripstop-style panel carrying the stripes along the quarter. Brown 3-Stripes sit beside a small trefoil, the lacing runs through D-rings and hooks up top, and gold-brown laces tie it together. Underneath, a brown midsole steps down to a navy heel wedge and a gold-flecked lugged outsole.
The adidas Wetherlam SPZL is expected to release on November 6th at 15:00 UTC for $180 through adidas and select retailers.
