Kim Kardashian's SKIMS and the Swoosh have been working their way through Nike's archive, and the next stop is the Waffle Racer, a 1970s runner built on the waffle outsole Bill Bowerman famously pressed out at Oregon. This version arrives in Light Bone with Varsity Red.
The upper pairs off-white nylon across the quarter and toe with soft suede on the mudguard, heel and tongue, all of it finished in a warm, lived-in cream rather than a bright white. Varsity Red takes the Swoosh and the heel panel, with red stitching tracing the collar and a small red hit on the tongue label. Cream laces sit in a matching eyestay, and the whole thing rides on an ivory midsole over a gum waffle outsole with its pegs picked out in brown.
The NikeSKIMS Waffle Racer in Light Bone/Varsity Red is expected to release on November 10th at 15:00 UTC for $130 in women's sizes, through Nike and select retailers.
