The 740 was an early-2000s daily runner built for mileage, the sort of trainer people wore down and bought again, and New Balance has pulled it back out of the archive for a new audience. This lace-up version arrives in a quiet white and silver treatment that leans on texture rather than contrast.
The upper pairs a soft white mesh base with suede at the toe and heel, then layers glossy metallic silver over the midfoot and around the heel counter. Those silver panels carry a perforated dot pattern that catches light across the quarter, with the N logo set in silver on top of it. The lacing runs through white eyestays onto a padded white tongue, and the chunky white midsole, stamped along the side, sits on a matching white outsole.
The New Balance 740 Lace in White and Silver is expected to release on November 12th at 15:00 UTC through New Balance and select retailers.
