Nike's run of furry Air Force 1s carries on into the holiday stretch, and this time the whole shoe has been dipped in purple. The Nike Air Force 1 Low "Atomic Violet" follows the orange "Horse of a Different Color" pair, swapping that shoe's tone for a deep violet with a faint sheen running through it.
The silhouette itself needs little introduction: Bruce Kilgore drew it up in 1982 as the first basketball shoe to carry Nike Air, and it has been reinterpreted more times than almost anything else in the Swoosh's catalogue. Here the shaggy hair covers every panel, toe to heel, with the grain of the pile shifting direction across the overlays and the Swoosh picked out only by the way the fibres lie. Tonal laces disappear into the upper, and the stitched tongue tag sits in matching purple. Underneath, a clean white midsole and a purple outsole keep the base familiar in men's sizes.
The Nike Air Force 1 Low "Atomic Violet" is expected to release on November 20th at 15:00 UTC for $140 through Nike and select retailers.
