Thirty years on from the summer the Predator Touch took over European football — the boot David Beckham was wearing when he scored from the halfway line at Selhurst Park in August 1996 — adidas has rebuilt it as the Predator 96 Firm Ground in Core Black, Cloud White and Pure Ruby. The Predator line began in 1994, and the Touch was the version that made the rubber-finned forefoot famous.
The upper is black throughout, with raised rubber elements ridged across the forefoot and a smoother panel behind them. Three white stripes run along the midfoot, outlined in red, and the fold-over tongue flips up in red with adidas branding across it. A blue graphic sits at the heel, with red trim threading along the collar and through the lacing. Underneath, a white soleplate carries conical and bladed studs.
The adidas Predator 96 Firm Ground in Core Black/Cloud White/Pure Ruby is expected to release on November 5th at 08:00 UTC for $300 through adidas and select retailers.
