Following the announcement of their long-term creative partnership at Paris Fashion Week in June, Under Armour and Feng Chen Wang presented them Rebel Daughter collection in Shanghai on October 14 under the theme “One of One. Never Alone.” Marking the collection's first full presentation in China, the event brought together Under Armour's performance innovation and Feng Chen Wang's creative vision, expanding the dialogue between sport, culture and contemporary design.
Rebel Daughter reflects Under Armour and Feng Chen Wang's shared understanding of contemporary women's strength. It is a strength expressed not only through speed, power and performance, but also through the confidence to challenge convention and embrace change. Rooted in tradition yet unbound by it, these women carve out their own paths without seeking to fit in or be defined. Different by nature and connected by choice, they rise together as Rebel Daughters.
The Shanghai event further extended the Rebel Daughter narrative through “WU”, a creative language that runs throughout the collection. Sharing the same pronunciation in Chinese, “WU” embodies two mirrored forms of physical expression -
Both the collection and runway performances draw inspiration from these dual WU disciplines.
“My initial inspiration came from how clothing connects with the body and moves with it. What truly connects Under Armour and Feng Chen Wang is a shared understanding of the power of the body, expressed through both performance and self-expression. Through Rebel Daughter, we hope to inspire more women to move, express themselves and stand on their own terms, while staying true to themselves and recognizing one another,”
As the first complete collection from Under Armour and Feng Chen Wang's long-term creative partnership, the collection combines Under Armour's performance fabrics with Chinese-inspired details, including Ruyi knot closures, Chinese standing collars, tassels, asymmetrical construction and streamlined tailoring designed to move with the female body, balancing functional performance, Eastern symbolism and contemporary urban style.
Rendered in black, Kona brown and red, the collection balances the clean precision of sportswear with heightened visual impact, moving seamlessly between training, the street and everyday life
The first footwear release brings the collection's dual “WU” inspiration to the UA Flare. Building on the silhouette's cushioned comfort and all-day wearability, the collaborative shoe combines functional performance with a distinctive design language for city movement, everyday activity and personal style. A black-and-white palette, soft colour transitions and a streamlined silhouette create a layered look, while a cushioned midsole and patterned rubber outsole provide comfort and grip.
UA x Feng Chen Wang footwear will be available in Asia in limited quantities at LABELHOOD's Julu Road store in Shanghai beginning today, October 15, and in the U.S. at JAIDE in Atlanta in early November.
Apparel from the collaboration is expected to launch later this year in select regions
