Nike Becomes the Official Ball Supplier of Germany’s Women’s Bundesliga and Supercup

What’s happening? Nike is becoming the official ball supplier of the Women’s Bundesliga, Germany’s top women’s football leagues, and the Supercup. This marks Nike’s first league and cup partnership in Germany and reflects the leading role Nike plays in defining and accelerating the women’s game around the world.

What Nike football will be used in the Women’s Bundesliga? Nike’s Control football is the new official match ball for both the first and second divisions of the Women’s Bundesliga as well as the Women’s Supercup, bringing OmniSculpt technology, truer flight and larger sweet spots to the top pitches in German football.

What is Nike’s commitment to German football? Nike’s commitment to German football is built on long‑term partnership and shared ambition to grow the game. Alongside its work with the Women’s Bundesliga leagues and the Supercup, the brand will also enter a partnership with the German Football Association beginning in January 2027. Across athletes and communities, Nike focuses on developing the game at every level, from elite performance to youth programs, helping shape the future of football culture in Germany.

Nike is becoming the official ball supplier of Germany’s Women’s Bundesliga Football Leagues and the Women’s Supercup, marking the brand’s first league and cup partnership in Germany while furthering its leading role in defining and accelerating women’s football around the world. The partnership is a four-year agreement.

Nike will provide its premium Control football as the official match ball for both the first and second divisions of the Women’s Bundesliga , Germany’s top women’s football leagues, as well as the Women’s Supercup. Nike will also supply training balls to each club.

“Nike’s goal is to deliver the best for the athlete across all levels, with innovation in boots, apparel and equipment that pushes how we think about what’s possible for athletes,” says Camilo Andrade, VP/GM, Nike Football. “Partnering with the Women’s Bundesliga Football Leagues and the Supercup allows us to connect more deeply with women who are shaping the game every day, from the best professionals to the next generation. We’re here to learn from them, to serve them with the best innovation, and to create with the inspiration of how they play and experience football.”

At the center of the partnership is Nike’s commitment to innovation. The Nike Control football is built for the modern game, pairing OmniSculpt debossed grooves for truer flight with a four‑panel construction and shorter, staggered seams that create a larger sweet spot and more consistent, spherical shape. These technical features support consistency across each touch and strike, meeting the demands of elite footballers throughout the Women’s Bundesliga.

“I’ve felt firsthand how deeply Nike is committed to growing women’s football — giving us the platform, recognition and voice to drive the game forward while equipping us with the most innovative product,” says Nike athlete Giulia Gwinn, who captains the German national women’s team and plays for the Women’s Bundesliga defending champion Bayern Munich. “It all starts with a ball. With the Women’s Bundesliga partnership, every female athlete at the top level of the game in Germany now has the opportunity to experience how Nike is creating the future of football by driving progress — for today’s female athletes and the next generation to come.”

Nike’s partnerships with the first and second divisions of the Women’s Bundesliga, starting July 1, and the German Football Association (DFB), beginning in January 2027, reflect Nike’s longstanding investment in growing the game across Germany — from elite competition to grassroots programs, youth development, street football and community engagement.

Nike Football has played a leading role in shaping women’s football in Germany, partnering with some of the game’s most influential athletes, including Giulia Gwinn, Janina Minge, Sara Däbritz and formerly Lira Alushi. Today, 12 members of the German national women’s team are Nike athletes, highlighting the brand’s deep connection to the highest levels of the game.

That commitment extends to clubs and communities alike. Nike has maintained a longstanding partnership with VfL Wolfsburg , one of the top clubs in German women’s football, and more recently joined forces with FC Viktoria Berlin to support the club’s ambition to elevate the women’s game nationally.

At the grassroots level, Nike continues to expand access and opportunity alongside partners such as the Berlin Football Association and buntkicktgut , a street football organization that welcomes young girls into the sport, providing them with a platform to develop skills, build confidence and engage with football in new ways.

“We are looking forward to working together with Nike to create new momentum for the future of women’s football in Germany,” says Manuel Hartmann, Managing Director Leagues and Competitions of DFB GmbH & Co. KG. “Nike brings extensive expertise in women’s football and will help support and drive the development of the Google Pixel Frauen-Bundesliga, the 2. Frauen-Bundesliga and the Google Pixel Women’s Supercup as a strong partner.”
