Nike Basketball and LeBron James are opening a new chapter in one of the game’s most enduring signature lines with the official debut of the LeBron 24, his lightest game shoe ever.

Built for the speed and demands of today’s game, the shoe delivers a lighter, sharper and more responsive expression of LeBron’s unmistakable performance, encouraging the next generation of athletes to pursue greatness on their own terms.

The LeBron 24’s performance system combines breathable containment, responsive cushioning, standout stability and confident traction, helping young hoopers move with speed and power while maintaining the lockdown support and bold identity players love about the LeBron franchise .

“The LeBron 24 is about giving the next generation the tools and confidence to create their own path,” says LeBron. “We made my lightest signature game shoe yet for the speed of today’s game, but the bigger idea is helping young athletes take what I’ve learned and use it to chase greatness in their own way, whatever that means to them.”

At the center of the LeBron 24 is KingKnit, a LeBron-specific knit construction engineered with a unique combination of yarns to deliver the lightweight strength, breathability and containment players need for quick cuts, explosive takeoffs and changes in direction.

Underfoot, a full-length React foam drop-in midsole system works with forefoot and heel Air Zoom units to provide responsive cushioning. A midfoot shank adds support, and a new traction pattern helps hoopers command the court in confidence. Together, these elements create a lightweight, explosive and secure platform designed to meet the needs of today’s game.

“The game keeps getting faster, and we designed the LeBron 24 to meet that moment,” says Dorian Pickens, product line manager, Nike Basketball. “Our new KingKnit material innovation delivers a strong, breathable upper that helps contain the foot through explosive movement. It’s innovation that makes the shoe feel light, fast and secure, giving the next generation a tool to support their game while they write their own story.”

The LeBron 24 also marks a shift in how Nike Basketball and LeBron share his story. Rather than asking younger athletes to inherit LeBron’s legacy, the shoe offers a playbook they can use to build their own — drawing on the experiences, values and choices that have defined his career.

That storytelling will come to life in LeBron 24 colorways organized around five principles:

Wonder: The imagination, confidence and belief to envision what’s possible

Family: The support, strength and connection that help sustain the journey

Fear: The ability to turn uncertainty and adversity into resilience, humility and motivation

Luck: The understanding that opportunity is often created through discipline, consistency and work

Discovery: The self-awareness and growth that come before external success

The launch “Stars” colorway falls under the first principle, taking inspiration from a formative AAU team from LeBron’s childhood. Upcoming colorways will further translate lessons from LeBron into inspiration and opportunity for the athletes coming up next, inviting them to use the principles that shaped his journey to unlock the next level of their own.
