Nike's Yardrunners program, built to celebrate Historically Black Colleges and Universities, turns its attention to marching bands this year, and the Air Max 97 "Tuskegee University" carries the Golden Tigers' colours through Christian Tresser's 1997 running silhouette.
The upper is built in white, with the 97's signature wavy layers running from the heel to the toe in bands of old gold and crimson, laddered so the warm tones fade outward across the panels. A small gold Swoosh sits on the forefoot, repeated on the heel, with a red tab at the collar and a red detail at the throat. A black mudguard wraps the lower half of the shoe and climbs into the heel. Underneath, the black midsole holds full-length visible Air, tinted red through the forefoot window, over a black outsole flecked with red.
It comes in men's sizes.
The Nike Air Max 97 "Tuskegee University" is expected to release on October 30th at 14:00 UTC for $190 through Nike and select retailers.
